LOCATION: South Dakota, Dewey County near Mobridge and Timberlake
HOST: Ron & Debbie are your hosts. Ron & Debbie actively farm and manage this 5000 acre privately owned ranch. Ron is an avid hunter, livestock man and crop farmer and Debbie makes the lodging feel like home. The family enjoys relating to pheasant hunters, the sport of pheasant hunting and farming for pheasants as well as running a full-time livestock and row crop operation.
LODGING: You will have private exclusive use of the West River lodging which consists of a 3-bedroom, 1-full bath and full kitchen mobile home that sleeps up to 8. The West River can accommodate larger groups as Ron & Debbie have extra room in their homes basement to handle larger groups. The lodging which is located on the farming operation about 10 miles from where the main farm where Ron & Debbie live. The lodging setup is located on your private exclusive hunting acreage. You group will find comfortable spacious arrangements from which to enjoy the best friends and family experience. You can even hunt a food plot right out your back door.
HUNTING: This pheasant camp boasts an expansive amount of CRP grass acreage (1500) from which to hunt. The crown jewel of this farm is the CRP acreage and the thinner cover from which the pointing dog owners will enjoy being to see their dogs working at all times. The West River Adventures Camp is 1 of only 2 pheasant camps where you can find/hunt both sharptail grouse and ringneck pheasant. You'll be hunting the following types of cover: Milo, grass, CRP grass, koshia, short grains and shelterbelts.
THE FARM: The West River Adventures Pheasant Camp is based in a private family owned working ranch for livestock and row crops. For pheasant hunting purposes, a portion of the farm is devoted to pheasant hunting and the farming for pheasants required to produce truly native wild ringneck pheasant populations.
