LOCATION: South Dakota, Charles Mix County between Lake Andes and Corsica
HOST: Chris, Roy & Shirley are your hosts. Chris is the owner of UGUIDE and owns the Pheasant Camp Lodge (the original UGUIDE Pheasant Camp). Chris pheasant farm's and manages this 700 acre privately owned farm. Chris is a longtime habitat conservationist and short-time pheasant farmer. Chris farms all his own food plots and habitat. Chris bought his first part of the farm from Roy and Shirley back in 2000 and have become good friends with them and their family and we all hunt together on opening weekend and also hunt deer together. Roy and Shirley host hunters as Chris is not a full-time resident of South Dakota. We all enjoy relating to pheasant hunters, the sport of pheasant hunting and farming for pheasants. The row crop portion of the farm is rented out to a local farmer.
LODGING: You will have private exclusive use of the Pheasant Camp Lodge which consists of a 2-bedroom, 3-bunkroom, 1-full bath and full kitchen lodge that sleeps up to 10. The lodging overlooks a shelterbelt, slough, milo food plots and you can hunt right out your back door or watch pheasants trading from roosting to feeding areas in the off hunting hours. The lodging setup is located right in the middle of your private exclusive hunting acreage. The Pheasant Camp Lodge is a 1200 square foot renovated post frame building that also affords the hunters a sheltered bird cleaning shack as well as indoor parking.
HUNTING: This pheasant camp boasts an unique diverse offering high quality food plots and cover in which to hunt and choose from. The crown jewel of this farm is the lodge. You group will find comfortable spacious arrangements from which to enjoy the best friends and family experience. Along with that the hunting can be excellent as more and more CRP is and will be added each year. You'll be hunting the following types of cover: Milo, corn, CRP grass, Koshia, CRP trees and shelterbelts.
THE FARM: The Pheasant Camp Lodge is based in a private family owned working crop farming & habitat operation. For pheasant hunting purposes, a portion of the farm is devoted to pheasant hunting and the farming for pheasants required to produce truly native wild ringneck pheasant populations.
